Hutchence belongings on eBay
Michael Hutchence's brother has defended his decision to sell off the late singer's personal belongings on eBay.
The auction lots include a fax to then girlfriend Kylie Minogue and even a pair of Michael's glasses.
Rhett Hutchence said he was auctioning the "unimportant" items because he needs the money to set up home with his new girlfriend in Holland.
INXS frontman Michael was found hanged in a Sydney hotel room in November 1997. He left a daughter, Tiger, by partner Paula Yates.
Rhett said: "I assure you all the really important things I'm keeping. I will be passing on a lot of these things to Tiger when she's old enough.
"The fact is, I'm in love. She's young and beautiful and everything I could want, I just need to raise some money so I can be with her. Michael wouldn't have minded at all, he'd be happy I'm in love and have some direction in my life."
Other items for sale include clothing, signed photos and song lyrics.
The 17-year-old Kylie fax, which said "good morning" and was signed with kisses and a heart, is no longer on the online auction site but Michael's reading glasses are still for sale and have so far attracted a bid of £277.
The notes say: "I do not think Tiger would have much use for these, and I feel a bit ickky about dead people's glasses. So yeah, please take them. Mum, you can have a 20 per cent discount."
A later amendment reads: "My apologies. I had had a few wines when I wrote the mum thingy. Can't delete it, however I take that back."
Their mother Patricia Glassop has reportedly disowned Rhett over the sale.
