Rowling goes back to her roots

Harry Potter creator JK Rowling has made a tearful return to the flat where she first dreamed up the boy wizard.

Now the most successful novelist in history, Rowling was a struggling single mother when she began writing her first book Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone.

An ITV1 show took her back to the flat in Leith, Edinburgh, where she lived at the time.

Visiting the small flat for the first time since she moved out a decade ago, Rowling wiped away tears.

She was thrilled to find that the new occupants had copies of the Harry Potter books on their shelves.

Rowling said: "This is really where I turned my life around completely. My life really changed in this flat."
