Ferguson tight-lipped on Ronaldo
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says he will trust his old guard again next season.
United are preparing to follow up their Champions League and Barclays Premier League double amid speculation star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is set to leave the club.
Ferguson, appearing at a charity golf event at Loch Lomond, refused to discuss the possible departure of last season's Premier League top scorer.
But he included the Portuguese international in a list of young players he feels will show improvement next season.
The United boss said: "There are some young players who appeared last season that did very well but for periods showed their youthfulness by being inconsistent.
"Those young players will come on a bundle now.
"That triumph of winning the league and the Champions League can only help us and players like Anderson, Nani, Rooney and Ronaldo will emerge from that and be really top players for us."
Ferguson said veterans Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes are still key players, and revealed he believes 33-year-old Gary Neville can still make a comeback for the club.
