Convicted paedophile Christopher Neil has appeared in a Thai court to face a further charge of abusing children.

The Canadian denies charges of sexually abusing a minor, videotaping the alleged abuse, taking a child without parental consent and holding him against his will.

The child, who was nine years old at the time, claims Neil paid between £8 and £16 to perform a serious sexual assault on him in 2003

The child, who was nine years old at the time, claims Neil paid between £8 and £16 to perform a serious sexual assault on him in 2003.

The boy is the brother of a child Neil admitted abusing in an earlier case. He was sentenced to three years and three months in jail on that charge.

Neil arrived at Bangkok's Central Criminal Court wearing brown Thai prison uniform and chains around his ankles.

The 32-year-old was arrested last year in Thailand following an international manhunt, co-ordinated by Interpol, after hundreds of photos of him engaging in sexual acts with young boys were discovered on the internet.

Neil's face had been obscured using a digital swirl effect that hampered police efforts to identify him, until technicians found a way to unscramble the photo.

He was arrested 11 days after the Interpol appeal was made.
