
British soldier killed in Afghanistan blast

A British soldier has been killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has said.
The soldier, from the Queens Royal Lancers Regiment, was killed in a suspected mine strike on his vehicle.
The incident takes the number of British personnel to die in Afghanistan since 2001 to 94
It was providing security to a supply convoy returning to Camp Bastion when the incident happened at about 9am.
A second soldier was injured in the blast and is receiving treatment at the Camp Bastion field hospital.
