Turkey have reached their first European Championship semi-final after beating Croatia on penalties.

Croatia looked to have sealed victory with a goal in the last minute of extra time from Ivan Klasnic.

Turkey's victory was clinched when hero goalkeeper Rustu Recber saved from Mladen Petric, giving them a 3-1 victory

But Turkey staged a stunning late fightback for the third game running to equalise two minutes into injury time.

A long ball into the Croatia area fell at the feet of Semih and the substitute lashed a shot into the top corner, sparking manic Turkish celebrations to match those of the Croatians moments earlier.

That sent the game to penalties where misses from Modric, Rakitic and Petric proved costly.

Turkey will meet Germany, who beat Portugal 3-2 on Thursday, in the first semi in Basel on Wednesday.
