Recycling on the Cambodia catwalk
Updated 13.16 Fri Jun 01 2007
Drink cans, milk boxes and plastic bags have been used as fashion accessories in a catwalk show in Cambodia.
The unique attempt at fashion was aimed to raise awareness of recycling and non-biodegradable waste among local Cambodians.
The rubbish was collected from the country's biggest dump site
The rubbish was collected from the country's biggest dump site, but it is also the place where many of the nation's poorest struggle to survive.
Artists and designers used a wide range of materials sifted from garbage to make dozens of unique outfits and musical instruments.
Some products even got a good response from the crowd, with umbrellas being sold for around £2.
The organisers hope to do it again next year but on a larger scale.
