News that conjoined twins have been born in India bought crowds to the family's home.

The twins, who are joined at the pelvis, were born near India's capital, Delhi, on Sunday.

Doctors fear any operation to separate them could be hazardous.

Ekram, the father, said he has accepted the twins as gift to the family, but said that he felt it unusual to have the babies as his first children.

"They are playing but it feels unusual."
