Fresh fighting ends Gaza truce
Factional fighting between gunmen from the rival Hamas and Fatah movements has erupted again in Gaza leaving two men dead and ten more injured.
The clashes came within hours of an agreement brokered by Egyptian mediators which was meant to end the violence that has jeopardised a power-sharing agreement between the sides.
The latest violence erupted in several locations in the coastal strip and brought the toll to six dead and three dozen wounded in less than 24 hours.
The Egyptian security delegation brought the two sides together and got them to agree to withdraw their forces and exchange captives.
But hours later, Fatah said Hamas attacked one of its offices in the north of the city, firing automatic weapons and hurling hand grenades, and Hamas said Fatah men attacked a roadblock manned by its militiamen.
Hospital officials said two Fatah men were killed and a total of ten people were wounded from both sides. The latest gunfights brought the toll in Gaza to five dead and at least 23 wounded in less than 24 hours.
