The film which also stars Cameron Diaz revolves around two strangers who awake in Las Vegas to find they have wed after a night of debauchery.

Diaz was not at the premiere, due to the recent death of her father.

Asked what he had done while drunk that he regretted the morning after, Kutcher said: "I voted for George Bush. That was pretty bad, but I wasn't drunk... the second time I did not vote for him and I campaigned against him and he still won."

Asked about pranks being played between Diaz and Kutcher on set, Kutcher said: "She's a big prankster not me. We never play too many pranks on each other, it's pretty civil."

Director Tom Vaughan, who has previously worked on hit show Cold Feet was also at the event in London's Leicester Square.

He said the film was "great to make".

Vaughan added: "It's a long way from my days running round with a video camera making horror movies with my friends."
