Kate stakes her individuality

Keywords: Lily Allen, Kate Nash

Kate Nash admits she is desperate to be seen as an individual rather than just the next Lily Allen.

Both singers are in their early 20s, both apply an irreverent take on life in their self-penned ditties and each has a lyric style which is laced by a Cockney accent.

"We support each other and like each other's music, but everyone is an artist in their own right and its not fair to be boxed in with others" - Kate Nash

But that is where the similarities end, claims Kate.

"It's annoying for both of us. We support each other and like each other's music, but everyone is an artist in their own right and it's not fair to be boxed in with others," she said.

Kate has already played Glastonbury and only missed out on her debut single 'Foundations' going to number one by 16 sales.

Timbaland was just about able to withstand her charge up the singles' chart, but now Kate has her sights firmly set on dislodging Britain's Got Talent winner, Paul Potts in the album charts.
