Carlos Tevez is to become a Manchester United player after West Ham reached an agreement with the player's advisor Kia Joorabchian which has been ratified by the Premier League.

And sources close to Joorabchian have revealed that the 23-year-old Argentina striker has passed a medical at Old Trafford and is set to finalise his move.

A deal, which is set to see West Ham receive £2 million in compensation, has been struck with Carlos Tevez's representatives but will require formal ratification by the Premier League and Football Association

The east Londoners, who will pick up £2 million having released Tevez, told reporters: "West Ham United can confirm that a settlement has been reached with the representatives of Carlos Tevez which will allow the player to leave the club.

"The settlement ends the current litigation taking place between the respective parties and provides for a £2 million fee to be paid to West Ham.

"The agreement confirms that West Ham do have a valid player's contract with Carlos Tevez and hold the registration of the player. This will be released once the agreed fee has been paid to the club.

"The terms of the settlement are consistent with undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League and the rules of The Football Association."

It is believed that Tevez will move to nine-times Premiership champions Manchester United on a two-year loan deal worth around £5 million a year.
