The cast behind the most famous family in Springfield hit the yellow carpet for the LA premiere of The Simpsons Movie.

The film sees Homer getting up to no good as usual, but features a host of other goodies fans will be eager to see.

Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, said: "A lot of Homer episodes are about that, him causing trouble and being the goat and then turning out to be the hero even though he was responsible for the problem in the first place."

However, director David Silverman said creating the film was a lot more difficult than working on the episodes, admitting "It was longer and more work".

"It was working every single day at a certain point," he said. "But at the same time there was a great deal of pride in knowing that you're working on a really great film, and really wanting to put your all into it because everybody's expectations are so high."

The UK premiere of The Simpsons Movie takes place later at the O2 Peninsula in London - formerly the Millennium Dome.
