Daily Debate: How safe are our children?
Three months after Madeleine McCann disappeared, her mother Kate has spoken of her guilt at leaving her daughter alone in a hotel apartment.
Mrs McCann's comments in her first interview without her husband came as the couple prepared to mount a second campaign to continue the search for their daughter.
She said: "Every hour now, I still question, 'why did I think that was safe?'
"If I'd had to think for one second, 'should we have dinner and leave them?' I wouldn't have done it. It didn't happen like that. I didn't have to think for a second, that's how safe I felt."
As news of a possible sighting of Madeleine in Belgium spread across the continent, her parents Gerry and Kate McCann travelled to Spain to mark the three months since their daughter went missing.
We want to know if you now think twice about who's looking after your children when on holiday.
