Man dies after street stabbing

A man in his forties has died after he was found stabbed in the street, police have said.

Police were called to Northlands Street in Camberwell, south-east London, Saturday night after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Scotland Yard said they are keeping an open mind about the motive and the force's Homicide and Serious Crime Command is investigating the incident.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to King's College Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe they know the identity of the dead man, but are waiting to inform next of kin and for formal identification to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be held.
