Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan has accused his British rivals of running scared and believes they will regret their jibes when he realises his dream of becoming world champion.

The 20-year-old, who is unbeaten since turning professional, takes on Scot Willie Limond for the Commonwealth lightweight title in London on July 14 and is in bullish mood.

"If they want to fight me I will fight them - I am not scared of anybody" - Amir Khan

He said of fellow domestic contenders like John Murray and Kevin Mitchell: "If they want to fight me I will fight them - I am not scared of anybody.

"I think they're scared the way they use words more than action and just keep talking instead of going and asking my promoter Frank Warren to make the fight.

"It is not nice when people say stuff about wanting to beat me. I know my big chance will come and when it comes I will prove I am one of the best fighters in the world."

Khan is full of respect for Limond, who has only suffered one defeat in his 29-fight career to date at the hands of fellow Scot Alex Arthur.

He added: "It is a good test for me and it is definitely my hardest fight as a professional. The fact it is for a title as well has given me that extra boost and motivation in training.

"I think Willie Limond is one of the best British fighters at lightweight. No-one can disrespect him because he has only been beaten by Alex Arthur so I know this is going to be a tough fight for me."
