X-philes mob premiere
The UK premiere of The X-Files: I Want To Believe drew crowds of screaming fans eager to catch a glimpse of the stars.
David Duchovny, wearing a beige-coloured outfit, signed autographs and a pregnant Gillian Anderson, wearing a flowing dress, waved at the crowd.
The pair spoke briefly outside the cinema in London's Leicester Square before going inside to view the sequel.
The X-Files, which began in 1993, chronicles the lives and adventures of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, FBI agents assigned to investigate paranormal, supernatural and bizarre unsolved cases.
It has spawned nine TV series and the first film, The X-Files in 1998, which grossed $187 million.
The film, also starring Billy Connolly, Amanda Peet and rapper Xzibit, is being released in the UK and Ireland on Friday.
