A bunch of hardy souls have taken advantage of warmer weather in Finland to take part in a naked run.

The event has taken place just a week before the Midsummer solstice celebrations, and sees competitors run or walk through five miles of quiet forest landscape.

One of the aims of the run is to show that it is possible to combine humour with sports.

The organiser of the event, Aarno Heino said: "We want to bring some humour to running events that are normally without humour. We want to have fun and enjoy the Finnish nature together."

The event has been running since 2003 - this year saw only around 40 participants but gathered a much larger audience, of about 300 spectators.
