Redknapp keen on fringe pair
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp claims Shaun Wright-Phillips and Younes Kaboul both want to join the club.
Neither Chelsea winger Wright-Phillips or Tottenham defender Kaboul are considered regulars at their current clubs.
But Redknapp may have to sell players to fund moves for either of his transfer targets.
Redknapp even claims Wright-Phillips's father, the former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright, would like him to move to Fratton Park.
Redknapp said: "I know Shaun and his dad think Portsmouth would be a good move for him.
"And I would like a centre-half. Younes Kaboul wants to come here, but I heard Kaboul is going to Villa. I don't think there is anything he can do about it."
In the last year, Redknapp has signed strikers Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe, who are both on the fringes of the England squad.
Wright-Phillips is in a similar position and Redknapp has confirmed he has his sights on several players who are keen to force their way into the England team.
He added: "Nicky Shorey at Reading is someone who I like, but he isn't going to come cheaply.
"We are only looking to get in top-drawer players now.
"I want to finish in the top six if I can but, as I always say, a top-ten finish in the Premier League is always brilliant for anybody apart from the usual top four."
