FA Cup giantkillers meet

Updated 15.49 Mon Mar 10 2008

The giantkillers from either Barnsley or Cardiff City will represent the Championship in the FA Cup Final.

They have been paired together in the semi-finals while West Brom will play the only remaining Premier League team, Portsmouth.

The semi-finals will be played at Wembley on April 5 and 6

Barnsley have knocked Liverpool and Chelsea out of the competition in successive rounds and now they could reach the final for the first time in 96 years.

There could even be a repeat of that 1912 final when they beat West Brom 1-0 in a replay.

West Brom have not won the Cup since they beat Everton in the 1968 final while Cardiff beat Arsenal at Wembley in 1927.

Pompey are the bookmakers' favourites even though they have not won the Cup since 1939, but there have been plenty of shocks in this season's competition, so all of the remaining Championship clubs must believe they have a chance of winning the trophy.

The semi-finals will be played at Wembley on April 5 and 6.
