The people of Zitiste in Serbia have built a life-size statue of Rocky.

The town has been hit by flooding, a lack of jobs and a declining population and those who lived there identified with the Sylvester Stallone character.

"We planned to spread the word about Zitiste throughout Serbia but it has spread throughout the world" - Bojan Marceta

Bojan Marceta, President of the Zitiste Citizens Association, said: "The advertising worked better than expected. We planned to spread the word about Zitiste throughout Serbia but it's spread throughout the world."

The statue was unveiled at the town's annual Chicken Fest.

Serbian strongman Ervin Katona said: "Many people come here to see the Rocky and the contest. I think it's very good, nice."
