Murray out of Wimbledon
Andy Murray has been knocked out of Wimbledon after a straight-sets defeat by Rafael Nadal.
The Spaniard raced to a 6-3 6-2 6-4 victory in the quarter-final after breaking Murray's serve in the eighth game.
The British number one had battled back from two sets and a break down against Richard Gasquet and the centre court crowd was hoping for another epic comeback.
But Nadal was relentless as he stormed into a semi-final against either Rainer Schuettler or Arnaud Clement.
Murray admitted he had been outclassed, saying: "His forehand was ridiculous.
"I couldn't get any rhythm. I felt rushed on every point. All I could do was hope his level would go down a bit but I had no chances at all."
Meanwhile, world number one Roger Federer cruised to a straight-sets victory over Mario Ancic.
The Swiss star beat the Croatian 6-1 7-5 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the tournament, where he will play Marat Safin.
