Five killed in Iraq suicide attack
Five policemen have been killed in a suicide attack in Iraq.
A suicide car bomber struck in Ramadi in the Sunni-dominated province of Anbar on Sunday.
Police captain Abbas al-Dulaimi said the attack was aimed at a police station on the eastern side of Ramadi, which lies 110km west of Baghdad.
He said 14 people had been wounded in the blast, including three policemen and warned that the casualty count could rise.
Ramadi and other towns in Anbar were hotbeds of anti-US insurgent activity until recent months.
Security conditions began improving after some local tribes turned against al-Qaeda militants operating on their turf.
US military commanders have been pointing to Anbar as a significant success in their security clampdown since February, aimed at stopping sectarian violence tipping the country into full-scale civil war.
