Winehouse escapes police charges
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse will not be charged in connection with an alleged conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Police confirmed that no further action will be taken against the jazz star after she was questioned in connection with the case which involves her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The Back To Black singer was arrested "by appointment" in December and voluntarily attended a police station.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 24-year-old woman arrested by appointment at an east London police station on December 18 will not be required to answer bail following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service. No further action will be taken."
Fielder-Civil, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London earlier where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The 25-year-old is currently being held in custody awaiting trial for the charge he denies and for a separate charge of grievous bodily harm.
