But the hearing at Rochdale Magistrates' Court was adjourned following legal argument.

Khan, 20, from Bolton denies the speeding charge.

Khan's barrister, Phillip Lucas, raised a number of legal matters and District Judge Andrew Meachin adjourned the case until October 26.

Khan did not attend court, but was ordered to attend the next hearing in the Autumn.

The young boxer shot to fame in 2004 when he won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Athens.

He has since turned professional and remains unbeaten in the ring as a pro.
