Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe is set to make his Broadway debut when the play Equus tranfers to New York.

The 18-year-old was given rave reviews for his performance in Peter Shaffer's psychological thriller during an eight-week West End run last year.

"It will be amazing" - Daniel Radcliffe

Now he will appear in a 22-week stint on Broadway, alongside Richard Griffiths, who played Uncle Vernon alongside Daniel in London.

Daniel said: "It will be amazing, but I will be terrified because I was talking to Richard Griffiths about playing New York and he said the most stupid thing you can do is underestimate New York audiences.

"I would be very nervous because I think (the audiences are) even more discerning than in London."

Daniel's role as Alan Strang involves a nude scene, which he insists is "not gratuitous".
