Collingwood hails 'fearless' England

Paul Collingwood has hailed England's new-found fearless attitude after they beat India by 42 runs at Edgbaston.

The result saw Collingwood's men open up a 2-1 lead in their seven-match one-day series, despite being without talismanic all-rounder Andrew Flintoff.

"We are getting scores of around 300 all the time and that shows we are improving" - Paul Collingwood

Ian Bell smashed 79 runs as the home side posted a score of 281-8 in their allotted 50 overs before James Anderson's haul of 3-32 with the ball restricted the tourists to 239 all out.

And one-day skipper Collingwood said: "We are getting scores of around 300 all the time and that shows we are improving.

"We have always said the best way to play one-day cricket is with a fearless attitude - it is getting filtered into our bloodstream - but it is still early doors, there are only three games gone so we won't get too carried away.

"But in many ways I was as satisfied with this performance as I was at the Rose Bowl. I know that was what I called near-perfect but today the efforts from all the lads were exceptional."
