Hunt for child snatcher

Police are hunting a man who has tried to abduct two schoolgirls in Birmingham.

A 12-year-old girl escaped unharmed on Monday after a white man in his 30s pulled her into his dark green car.

Police have alerted local schools and stepped up patrols in the areas while examining CCTV footage

She was kidnapped in Sutton New Road, Erdington and driven to the Nechells area of the city but managed to run off.

The driver, who wears glasses, is also thought to have tried to abduct a nine-year-old girl in Fillimore Road, Alum Rock, Birmingham, on Sunday.

The same five-door saloon car is believed to have been involved in both incidents.

Police have alerted local schools and stepped up patrols in the areas while examining CCTV footage.
