Alice in Devon-land?
Devon has become one of the locations for a Tim Burton-directed production of Alice in Wonderland.
Around 250 men and women are being sought as extras for the multi-million pound remake of the Lewis Carroll classic, with auditions taking place at Plymouth's New Continental Hotel on August 6 and 7.
Casting director Ilenka Jelowicki said there had been a lot of interest in the auditions and her phone had been "ringing off the hook".
"We are expecting a good turnout," she added.
Scenes for the film will be shot in the Plymouth area for two weeks in September.
The city has been the setting for other major productions, including 1995's Sense and Sensibility, starring Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant and Kate Winslet, which was filmed at Saltram House.
Churchill, the Hollywood Years, starring Christian Slater and Neve Campbell, was shot at the Royal William Yard in 2003.
