A number of former reality show contestants, including X Factor runner-up Andy Abraham, will be hoping to represent the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Rob McVeigh and Simona Armstrong, from Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, will be competing along with former EastEnder and singer Michelle Gayle and Abraham, who lost out to Shayne Ward in the 2005 X Factor final.

The winner will be hoping to do better than last year's contenders, Scooch, who finished 22nd out of 24 with their song Flying The Flag

They will be joined by girl groups LoveShy, which consists of Aimee Kearsley and Emma Beard, formerly of Popstars: The Rivals band Clea, and Motown-inspired The Revelations.

The winner will be hoping to do better than last year's contenders, Scooch, who finished joint 22nd out of 24 with their song Flying The Flag.

Eurovision host Terry Wogan said: "A turkey is one of the contenders for this year's Irish entry. For the past few years, we've been picking a turkey for the UK.

"Let's hope that the British public will make the right decision this year and give the UK's entry a fighting chance against the Eastern Bloc in Belgrade in May."
