The Babyshambles frontman is said to have already put down three out of 12 tracks during recording sessions with producer Jake Foir.

Foir told a music website: "It sounds slower and more intimate [than Babyshambles]. Pete's writing is more universal, rather than about personal experiences."

The producer also revealed the album will feature a number of guests, including his Babyshambles bandmates, South London band The Thirst and rapper Klashnekoff.

The release date hasn't been confirmed as he said the Babyshambles' label Parlophone are unhappy that Doherty is recording outside of their control.

However, Fior wants to finish the album and present it to the label in the hope they could give it the all-clear and establish an official release date.
