
Off-licence alcohol ban proposed for under 21s

The age limit for buying alcohol from supermarkets and off-licences in Scotland is to be raised from 18 to 21 under controversial plans to tackle the nation's chronic drink problems.
The shake-up of Scotland's drink laws is intended to confront alcohol misuse among teenagers.
Over-18s will still be allowed to drink in pubs and clubs in Scotland.
Other proposals to be unveiled by Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill include minimum prices and outlawing cheap deals.
