Schwarzer signs for Fulham
Mark Schwarzer has signed for Fulham after ending an 11-year career at Middlesbrough.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with the west London club.
Schwarzer confirmed the move ahead of Australia's friendly against Ghana in Sydney on Friday night.
He joined Middlesbrough in 1997 and had been offered a new contract to stay at the northeast club.
A renowned shot-stopper, Schwarzer helped Middlesbrough to the League Cup in 2004 and his penalty shoot-out heroics against Uruguay in Sydney sent Australia to the 2006 World Cup finals.
He said: "I thought it was important to sort it out sooner rather than later so it didn't affect preparations for the qualifiers. I was very confident something would be sorted out. I had a few other options but felt this was the best one for me."
