However, with politician-turned-rogue Dent playing an important role in the box-office record-breaking feature, Eckhart was delighted that his hard work could be appreciated to the public.

He said: "I loved playing Harvey Dent - fighting crime in the courtroom, standing up against the mob, getting the girl and then having that huge transformation where everything turns.

"There's a lot for me to do in the movie."
