Dangerous toys from China seized
More dangerous Chinese toys have been removed from markets and shop shelves in the UK by Trading Standards officers.
Around 600 tiny mobile phones marketed at toddlers have been seized in Ealing, west London. Trading Standards officers described them as "potential killers".
Asked about the toys, Douglas Love of Ealing Trading Standards said: "The key problem with them is they have access to batteries that can be swallowed by small children and may cause chemical burns inside their stomachs."
It comes just days after Mattell UK recalled more than 2,500 Chinese-made Barbie toys over fears they contain excessive amounts of lead paint.
The image of the world's largest toy-maker has already been battered by two other high-profile recalls of Chinese toys this summer.
The toys recalled by Mattel UK were seven Barbie playset accessories. No Barbie dolls are included in the recall.
