Boat Race victory for Oxford
Oxford has taken a comfortable victory over Cambridge at the 154th Boat Race on the River Thames.
The Dark Blues came in 22 seconds ahead of their long-standing rivals to gain revenge for last year's defeat.
The winning crew was truly international, comprising of four Americans - Aaron Marcovy, Charles Cole, William England and Michael Wherley, at 36 the oldest rower in Boat Race history - Germany's Jan Herzog, Australian Toby Medaris and two Brits, Ben Smith and Oliver Moore.
The lure of this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing also saw changes in the Light Blue boat, with only five of their eight rowers born in Britain.
Colin Scott, Henry Pelly, Tobias Garnett, Peter Marsland and Tom Ransley made up the home contingent.
The crew was completed by Australians Tim Perkins, Tom Edwards and American stroke Ryan Monaghan - called up as a late replacement three days ago when illness struck down fellow New Yorker Shane O'Mara.
