Updated 11.01 Fri Jul 06 2007

Corrie star Antony Cotton is set to get his own tea time chat show, it has been announced.

The 31-year-old joined the soap in 2004 to play the role of Sean Tully and has become a firm favourite winning best actor at the British Soap Awards earlier this year.

"It's going to be gossipy, light hearted, chatty and irreverent but most of all fun with lots of tea and cake" - Antony Cotton

He also won the singing competition Soapstar Superstar.

The new show will be filmed in front of a studio audience and will combine celebrity chat with topical humour.

Cotton said: 'I'm delighted to have been given this opportunity. I love working on Coronation Street and producers have been kind enough to allow me to leave the cobbles earlier in the day to get into the studio next door to make the show.
