McCarthy seals Rovers win

Benni McCarthy scored the only goal as Blackburn beat Manchester City 1-0 at Ewood Park.

The South Africa striker volleyed past Kasper Schmeichel early in the first half.

Tugay and Richard Dunne were both sent off

But both teams were reduced to ten men after the break.

Blackburn midfielder Tugay was shown the red card for a second bookable offence.

And City captain Richard Dunne was also sent off for picking up a second yellow card.

Blackburn are unbeaten after four Premier League games while City have lost twice since starting the campaign with three wins.
