McGeady ignores Glasgow abuse

Celtic midfielder Aiden McGeady insists he will not be driven out of the club by off-the-field intimidation.

The Republic of Ireland international was involved in an incident outside a nightclub in Glasgow last month, hours after Celtic had beaten Rangers 3-2 in the Old Firm game.

"I would not say that it would drive me away from Celtic" - Aiden McGeady

But McGeady has learned to cope with the constant attention and rivalry between the biggest clubs in Scotland.

He said: "It's just something that happens in Glasgow where everybody you meet is a Celtic or Rangers fan.

"People are either going to shake your hand or give you abuse but they won't drive me out, not at all.

"Some of the Celtic players live in Edinburgh and can walk down the street there without getting any hassle but Glasgow is totally different. Still, I wouldn't say that it would drive me away from Celtic."
