Man shot near Bravo murder scene named
A young man shot dead a few streets away from where a teenager was gunned down earlier this month has been named by police.
Ezekiel Adeboyego Ojo, 24, originally from Nigeria, died from injuries sustained in the shooting in south London early on Friday.
Police were called to Penrose Street in Southwark at 2.45am where they found Mr Ojo.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem examination found the cause of the fatality to be gunshot wounds to the chest.
The killing follows the August 6 shooting of 18-year-old Ryan Bravo, who was attacked as he went into a Costcutter store in Walworth, just a few streets away from Penrose Street.
His death is thought to have been a case of mistaken identity with no link to the later shooting, but police say they are not ruling out any possibilities.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Boughton said: "The area is near a very busy part of southeast London. A large number of bus routes use Walworth Road and it contains many fast food outlets.
"I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around 2.30am to 2.45am, or even before that time, and may have seen or heard anything suspicious."
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8247 4553, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
