Kylie's X heads Stateside

Kylie has headed to the US to promote her album X.

The pop star is trying to follow in the footprints of Leona Lewis to crack the American market with a host of TV appearances.

She has already lined up the Today show and Dancing With the Stars - the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

When asked why US success has alluded her so far, she said: "It's a notoriously difficult market. You have so many different denominations of radio, it could be a science lesson.

"To know where I fit within that market is sometimes difficult."

The album X went to number four in the UK album chart when it was released last December.
