Liverpool defender Daniel Agger also made his comeback from injury in the reserve match.

He was wearing a new pair of boots designed to prevent him putting weight on the metatarsal bone he broke in his foot in September.

Xabi Alonso scored a penalty and Harry Kewell scored another as Liverpool's reserves won the match 2-0.
