Fergie: 'Rooney back in training'
Wayne Rooney could make his comeback from a broken foot when Manchester United visit Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
The 21-year-old England striker suffered a broken metatarsal against Reading at Old Trafford on the opening of the season.
But he has returned to training and Sir Alex Ferguson could put him on the substitutes' bench at Goodison Park, ahead of the start of the Red Devils' Champions League opener at Sporting Lisbon next Wednesday.
Ferguson, who is refusing to take any chances on Rooney's fitness, has been quoted as saying: "He's training, which is good.
"I'd not have brought him back to training unless he was ready. The latest scan was good and I'm pleased with that. We have to wait and see how his fitness is."
Ferguson will be hoping Rooney will be able to play when Chelsea visit Old Trafford a week on Sunday.
