Moss nude portrait on sale
A nude portrait of Kate Moss is amongst a collection of photos of the world's most beautiful women to be auctioned for an estimated £1.5 million.
The set also includes images of supermodel Gisele Bundchen and Brigitte Bardot.
The portraits come from the collection of German-born Gert Elfering, one of the foremost collectors of 20th century photography.
Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon and Irving Penn are among the photographers whose work is featured.
Christie's said: "Central themes in the collection are the celebration of genius and above all of beauty. The stylised, idealised female figure occupies a privileged place in Elfering's aesthetic."
The sale at Christie's in New York on April 10 will feature 135 rare original prints.
