Stars celebrate Versace's life
The life and style of luxury fashion designer Gianni Versace has been celebrated with a star-studded ballet in Milan.
The lavish red carpet event at the La Scala opera house was organised by the designer's sister Donatella to commemorate ten years since his murder.
Around 1,500 guests attended the event, which featured some 12 ballets that Versace had designed costumes for.
Several stars turned up for the gala, including model Claudia Schiffer, actors Jessica Alba and Rupert Everett and pop singer Geri Halliwell.
"He was such a warm-hearted man, so much fun and full of joy of life and amazing talent, obviously," said Schiffer.
'Thanks, Gianni, with love' also included costumes created by Donatella, who now designs for Versace.
"I think he was just the talent and he dressed the creative arts beautifully. So I am so honoured to be here," said Geri Halliwell.
Versace was gunned down on the street outside his Miami Beach mansion on July 15, 1997.
