Xzibit puts the X into new movie
US rapper Xzibit will be teaming up with Scottish comedian Billy Connolly in the big-screen version of X-Files.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their famous roles as FBI eltie Mulder and Scully who doggedly investigate paranormal incidents.
Xzibit, who starred in xXx 2: The Next Level, will also be joined by Syriana star Amanda Peet. The pair will also play FBI agents in the adaptation of the cult TV series.
The supernatural thriller is a stand-alone story, not a sequel or continuation of the hit 1998 feature version.
The hip hop star recently teamed up with Bruce Willis and Woody Harrelson to make Oliver Stone's Pinkville, but was his schedule was freed up when production was put on hold because of the writers strike.
The 33-year-old has also appeared in 8 Mile, which starred fellow rapper Eminem, and he presents MTV's Pimp My Ride.
