Authorised to miss Ascot race
Vodafone Derby winner Authorized will not run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 28.
And trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam has indicated that the Montjeu colt is set to target the Irish Champion Stakes before a tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on October 7.
Chapple-Hyam said: "I am happy with him as he seems in very good form, although he is entitled to feel slightly tired after three hard races so far this season.
"With that in mind, he will probably benefit from a bit of a break. He has looked after me this year, now I've got to look after him.
"Regarding the rest of his campaign, we will build him up with the Arc as his main target. But he will probably run before that in the Irish Champion Stakes. If he doesn't head to Ireland for that race, we could go for the Juddmonte."
Authorized lost his place at the head of the market for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes to Dylan Thomas.
