Barry confirms Liverpool interest

Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry has told Martin O'Neill he wants to join Liverpool.
The Anfield club made an offer for Barry before the end of the season and O'Neill was upset the discussions became public.
"Gareth Barry has stated in discussions with our manager he would like to leave Aston Villa to join Liverpool" - Aston Villa statement
Now Barry has confirmed he is interested in the proposed transfer.
A Villa statement read: "Gareth Barry has stated in discussions with our manager he would like to leave Aston Villa to join Liverpool.
"But Liverpool's bid for the player has been rejected and they have been informed of Villa's continued position in this matter."
O'Neill has revealed Liverpool offered players in part-exchange for Barry.
