Nicole spends just one hour in jail
Pregnant Nicole Richie has served just over an hour in jail for driving under the influence of drugs after giving herself up to police.
The Simple Life star was sentenced to four days in prison but spent just 82 minutes behind bars because of jail overcrowding guidelines in LA.
But it looks like the 25-year-old star wasn't given any special treatment as rules state that local officials are allowed to reduce jail time for inmates with similar charges to Richie's.
The celebrity socialite was stopped by police in December after she was seen driving the wrong way on a Los Angeles motorway.
Police said that when they questioned Richie at the time of her arrest she failed a sobriety test and admitted that she had smoked marijuana and taken the painkiller Vicodin.
It was her second charge of driving under the influence in four years and the star was also fined £1024, given three years probation and told she must attend a court-ordered rehab program for second-time offenders.
The actress is expecting her first baby by her boyfriend, Joel Madden, who is the lead singer of US rock band Good Charlotte.
