Murder probe over toddler death

A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a two-year-old boy in Leicester.
The child was found by police officers at a property in Thornholme Close in Beaumont Leys at around 5.40am.
The toddler was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he was later pronounced dead

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "He is currently receiving treatment at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and is expected to be taken into police custody when he is discharged."
The house where the boy was found was sealed off for forensic examination. A post-mortem is due to take place later.
